Performance history in South Africa
1889: Performed by the Luscombe Searelle and his company in the Exhibition Theatre, Cape Town, opening on 26 August, with the visiting celebrity comedian Lionel Brough as "James Busby". The production was poorly attended, as were most of that season by Searelle in the unsuitable Exhibition Theatre.
