The original text
The Man is a full length play written in 1950 by Mel Dinelli (1912-1991)[1] and was based on "To Find Help", a short story by Dinelli - had its Broadway debut in 1950, starring Dorothy Gish.
The original production starred Dorothy Gish.

Translations and adaptations
The play was later turned into a film called Beware, My Lovely (1952)[3].
