Cosmo Pieterse (1930-). Expatriate Namibian (South West African) lecturer, teacher, editor, journalist, commentator and dramatist.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

His long dramatic poem Ballad of the Cells was published in the anthology Ten One-Act Plays (1968), which he edited. Author of Doctor in the House and also responsible for the adaptation of Feat Accomplished and a Hero Completely Defeated.

He edited three collections of African plays, namely Ten One-Act Plays (1968), Short African Plays (1972), and Five African Plays (1972) in the Heinemann African Writers series.


As an actor, he played an angel in The Zeal of Thy House (St George's Cathedral, Cape Town, in 1980).
