Simon Jones (19*-). South African actor.
Not to be confused with the Cape Town based painter (born 1951) who spent nine months in the early 1970s as a stage painter for CAPAB (Lantern 31(2):36, 1982) or the English actor Simon Jones (born 1950) [1].
Biography
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
As a student at Rhodes University Drama Department in the late 1980s, Simon acted in Endgame (1987), The Visit and Story Theatre in 1988 and directed The Zoo Story.
He starred in Never the Sinner which opened at the Leonard Rayne Theatre on 28 September 1991. He starred in People's Theatre’s productions of Peter Pan and Pinocchio in 1992. Other roles were in Buddy! The Buddy Holly Story, Six Degrees of Separation.
