The original text
A short play A Bachelor's Dream by Hamilton Coleman was first copyrighted in Chicago in 1913.
Boonzaier (1923) mentions two South African performances of a variety sketch by an unknown author also called A Bachelor's Dream. Possibly an early (burlesque) version of Coleman's text?
