The original text
Based on Bartho Smit's Don Juan onder die Boere, the play . The play won the SACPAC Best New Play of the Year Award in 1994. First performed the buhte student of the University of Cape Town in 1994 and published in the collection Vrygrond en ander Dramas by Tafelberg Publishers in the same year. Also appeared as a single play, published by New Contrast Publishers.
Performance history in South Africa
1994: First performed by UCT in Hiddingh Hall in Cape Town and then taken to Kampustoneel 1994.
1994: Staged by PACT at the Arena at the State Theatre (August 1994) directed by Megan Willson, design by Chris van den Berg, lighting by Mark Behrens starring Ramolao Makhene, Louis van Niekerk, Marion Holm, Nana Stapelberg, Meme Ditshego, Hannes Muller and John Goddard.
