In 1855 Francis Cowley Burnand ()[] wrote  a [[burlesque]] of the ballad called ''[[Alonzo the Brave, or Faust and the Fair Imogene]]''. First performed at the Strand Theatre London on 5 February, 1855 and publishe by T.H. Lacy in the same year.
