A play by American playwright and educator Milan Stitt [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milan_Stitt] (1941-2009). The original play was based on a real life 1919 trial for the murder of a nun in Michigan. Writing on the play began in 1965 and debuted in 1971; it finally appeared on Broadway in 1976.
