Head of the Old Vic Company together with Irene Worth. They paid a historic visit to South Africa in a season of Shakespeare in 1951/1952?* in conjunction with NTO. They brought the American comedy Harvey, Shaw’s Saint Joan and a stage adaptation of Pride and Prejudice in 1952.
