The original text
The play was developed by the cast as a workshop project, and investigates how the human rights enshrined in the South African constitution are experienced by ordinary South Africans. They present these perspectives through a montage of moments from our past and present in which they reference seminal turning points in the country's history (such as the Sharpeville massacre, 1976 Uprising and the Fees Must Fall movement), and other seminal turning points in the country's history, and using comedy, music and movement, to interrogate, satirize and sometimes ridicule the relevance of human rights in real life.
