He particularly wrote musicals, and in the 1960s was encouraged by DALRO to produce works for schools and amateur groups, sometimes in association with the playwrights Anna Rudolph and Coenie Rudolph. Operettas for children include My Suiderland, Die Silwer Sambreeltjie, Lodilla and Freule Marike.
