The Johannesburgse Afrikaanse Amateur Toneelspelers is an Afrikaans amateur theatre group in Johannesburg,

It is best known by the acronym JAATS (or J.A.A.T.S.).


In 1949 they participated in the Inauguration of the Voortrekker Monument Pretoria, December 13 to 16, 1949, with a tableau scene called

Evolved out of Schalk Theron’s Sonop Afrikaner Kring. They secured the rights to the premiere of the poet and playwright Uys Krige’s Die Goue Kring for their Festival production at the Library Theatre in 1956.
