Vuyisile Pandle (19**-). Poet, actor, playwright.

Biography

Originally from Duncan Village outside East London, South Africa.

Youth

Training

He completed a two-year diploma in the performing arts and communications at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria.


Career

He used to recite poetry at community gatherings before joining the then-undergound ANC in the 1980s and travelling to Zambia for military training. He continued performing his poetry on special occasions.

While in Nigeria he took part in a number of drama and TV productions.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Since returning to South Africa in 1994 he has been involved in community theatre work.

His first appearance at the Baxter Theatre was as Willie in Master Harold ... and the boys in 1999.

His two-man play Wait was developed by the Cape Town Theatre Laboratory.

Nominated Most Promising Performance by a New Actor Vita Award (Gauteng Region) 1999/ 2000.
