Southern Africa is a regional indicator, mostly used to refer to the countries the southern countries in Africa, including Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe, etc.
Due to recent political and economic moves now generally referred to as the SADC countries (SADC = Southern African Development Community).
The adjective Southern African is at times employed to indicate this when discussing cultural and other activities that reach beyond the borders of a single, or particular, country.
