The Crossing is a play by Jonathan Khumbulani Nkala. A one-man play about a Zimbabwean refugee who came to Cape Town.

The text was published by Junket in 2009 (with The Bicycle Thief).
Performance history in South Africa
2006: Based on Nkala’s account of his journey, and developed with the help of director Bo Petersen it was first produced (as The Journey) in 2006 in the Garage Theatre.
2008: In 2008 it was developed further and became The Crossing, and has had successful runs in Zimbabwe and South Africa.
