C.W. Hudson (19-) is an Afrikaans cultural historian, literary critic, author and translator.
Biography
Born Charles William Hudson. He completed an MA thesis on the science of cultural studies in Afrikaans (Die Afrikaanse Volkswetenskap), at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1943.
Besides many articles and reviews, he co-authored the reference work Boerewysheid ("Boer wisdom") with P.W. Grobbelaar and H. van der Merwe (Cape Town: Tafelberg, 1977).
Contribution ot South African theatre and performance
Translated J.M. Synge's one act play Riders to the Sea (1905) into Afrikaans as Na die See, published in Tydskrif vir Letterkunde, 11(3):98-107, 1961.
