Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
According to an interview with Herschelle Benjamin, her satirical cabaret work is concerned with xenophobia, the case of the Palestinians, Islamophobia and the dangerous rhetoric surrounding minority groups in South Africa.
Her debut cabaret, Valencia, written and performed in 2016, won the kykNET Fiesta award for best upcoming artist in 2019.
