A member of the Cairns James Company, that visited cape Town in 1894 to perform in the Good Hope Theatre under the auspices of the Wheeler Theatre Company, he played "Lord Braemuir" in In Town (Ross, Leader and Carr), that opened the season on 9 June 1894.
