Khaba Mkhize (19**-2016). Poet, playwright, journalist.
Contents
Biography
Former editor of 'Echo' newspaper and ex-assistant editor of the 'Natal Witness'. He also worked for the SABC.
He passed away in Pietermaritzburg in July 2016.
Career
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Among the plays that he wrote are Pity! Maritzburg, Hobo the Man and the controversial Bone 4 Mandela (2001).
Awards, etc
His play Pity! Maritzburg was nominated for a Vita Award (National) in 1991.
He won a Lifetime Achievement Award for his work as a journalist in 2009.
