Die Gouvernante ("The governess") is a one act comedy ("posse") by Carl Theodor Körner (1791-1813)[1]

Written and possibly published in 1813, performed at the Königliche Schauspiele in Berlin, 1820 and published in Vienna by Wallishauser in 1819.

Translated into Dutch as De Gouvernante, possibly by Westerman.
Performance history in South Africa
1909: Performed by Aurora III in the ANV Saal, Cape Town, on 31 August, as part of a festive meeting to celebrate the birthday of Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands.
