Witness for the Prosecution is a play adapted by Agatha Christie based upon her short story titled "The Witness for the Prosecution". 1954: The play was first staged in South Africa by the Johannesburg Reps in 1954, directed by Anthony Farmer who also designed the set which was a replica of the Old Bailey. Robert Griffiths and Sadie Festenstein starred in this sell out show.
