He holds a National Diploma in Drama and Theatre Craft and a BA in English and Communications.
Career
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Russell made his professional debut at the age of fourteen in Geoffrey Sutherland’s production of Hans Christian Andersen for NAPAC.
During his studies he co-directed and performed in The Lover by Harold Pinter and premiered Pink Foolery at the Grahamstown Festival.
On stage he has appeared in Elizabeth: Almost by Chance a Woman, The Taming of the Shrew (1996), Fiddler on the Roof, Elizabeth, Cabaret.
He has performed in numerous radio plays.
He was casting director on the film Country of My Skull.
