Het Privaat Hollandsch Toneelievend Gezelschap literally means "the private Dutch amateur company" and is a general phrase often found in the 19th century to refer to a number of Dutch amateur theatre companies. They are usually better known by their mottoes and are listed thus in this encyclopaedia.
