A prolific translator of Afrikaans literary works, including Raka by N.P. van Wyk Louw (1968) , Die Man met 'n Lyk om sy Nek (as The Man with a Corpse around his Neck, 1969), Putsonderwater (as Well-Without-Water, or The Virgin and the Vultures, DALRO, 1970) both by Bartho Smit, and Pa, Maak vir my 'n Vlieër Pa by Chris Barnard (as Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow).
