COUZENS, Tim. (1944-) Academic biographer and specialist on black South African literature. Studied at the University of Natal, Durban and at Oxford. Attached to the University of the Witwatersrand from 1969, he is the founder and director of the African Studies Institute there. Wrote a biography of [[H.I.E.
