Le Projet Manqué, ou Arlequin Taquin is a one act play by François-Georges Desfontaines (1733-1825)[1] (also known as Desfontaines-Lavallée), Pierre-Yves Barré (1749 -1832)[2] and Jean-Baptiste Radet ( 1752-1830)[3].

The original text

A parody of A.V. Arnault's contemporaneous tragedy Lucrèce[4], it was first performed in Paris at the Théâtre du Vaudeville, on Friday 18 May, 1792. Published in Paris by Brunet.

South African performances

1809: Performed in French by the French Company led by Charles Etienne Boniface, on 7 April in the African Theatre, Cape Town, with La Paysanne Curieuse (Framery) and Les Troubadours (Floquet).
