Besides Boonzaier, the surname is also spelled in various other ways by F.C.L. Bosman, including Boonzaayer and Boonzaaier.
He may also have been the ballet master W. Boonzaayer (or W. Boonzaaier) mentioned by F.C.L. Bosman (1928: p. 247) as working with C.E. Boniface on a production of Frederik de Groote,te Spandau, of Het Lasterschrift (Dorvo) and Meester Vink, of De Vermiste Diamant (Desaugiers and Gentil) on 2 August 1834.
