Biography

Youth

Training

He graduated from the Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town, in 1974, majoring in sculpture.


Career

Between 1977 and 1980 he worked as a graphic artist at the S.A. Cultural History Museum and at the National Museum and Art Gallery in Botswana.

In 1981 he became the co-founder of the Handspring Puppet Company (with Jill Faubet, Adrian Kohler and Joe Weinberg).

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

On stage he has appeared in A Midsummer Night's Dream (1988).

He made puppets for Barney Simon’s Starbrites which was staged at the Market in September 1990.

He directed The Chimp Project.

Awards, etc
