The term koorddans is a Dutch and Afrikaans term, literally translated meaning "rope dancing", and referring to the well-known circus act of walking, performing or dancing on a tightrope, also referred to in some cases by the later name, funambulism[1]. A koorddanser is thus a tightrope walker, performer, dancer or "funambulist".
