De Eerste April ("The first of April") is a Dutch two-act comedy, including songs , by Marten Westerman (1775-1852)[1].

Published in 1818 by M. Westerman in Amsterdam.


Performances in South Africa

1831: Performed by Tot Nut en Vermaak on 23rd April, 1831 in Cape Town, as an afterpiece to De Bruidskroon, of De Droomverskyning (Cuno).

1847: Performed once more by Tot Nut en Vermaak en Door Yver Vruchtbaar on 30th April, 1847, as an afterpiece to De Ortenbergsche Familie (Vreedenberg).
