Man and Superman is a four-act play by George Bernard Shaw[1] (1856 – 1950).
Contents
The original text
Written by George Bernard Shaw in 1903, in response to requests for him to write a play on the Don Juan theme. The play was first performed The Royal Court Theatre in London on 23 May 1905, without the third act (containing Don Juan in Hell in Scene 2). The play was not performed in its entirety until 1915, when the Travelling Repertory Company played it at the Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh.
