Pierre Knoesen (19*-) is a South African actor for stage, radio, TV and film, and a restauranteur.
Studied at the University of **,
His stage acting career started with a stint working for PACT, before turning freelance. He appeared in Snoopy!!! (Sand Du Plessis Theatre, Bloemfontein, Janice Honeyman; (dir): William Egan, musical dir: Noel Stockton, 1985), Scorched Earth (Pieter-Dirk Uys, 1989), Tjaart Potgieter’s production of Mitzi Booysen’s The Time of the Hyena together with Elize Cawood and Nomhle Nkonyeni at the Windybrow Theatre circa 1986. Starred in Ibsen’s A Doll's House at Upstairs at the Market Theatre in 1990. ***
Also did much TV and film work.
In 1995 he retired to co-found Pomegranate Restaurant in Melville Johannesburg, with Chef Janet Telian. In 1999 he and director and SABC producer Johan Bernard retired to France to found and run a successful guest house, Ma Cachette, in Arlanc.
