The Nozincwadi Books and Story Festival is a project aimed at promoting literacy and reading, first begun and run by actress and storyteller Gcina Mhlophe Gcina Mhlope in 2001, under the auspices of her foundation, the Gcinamasiko Arts and Heritage Trust. A primary thrust of the project is the distribution of books within communities that otherwise would have no access to reading materials.
