The HELLO Community Theatre Arts Festival is a community theatre development programme, launched in 2014 by Tshwane University of Technology’s Department of Entertainment Technology, in partnership with the City of Tshwane and DWR Distribution. The festival was created to allow students of the Department and community theatre groups to exchange knowledge and skills.
In 2015 the Festival used both the Mamelodi West Community Hall and the Breytenbach Theatre as venues , with interactive sessions, workshops and masterclasses held in Mamelodi’s Beer Hall and at the Breytenbach Theatre in Sunnyside.
The festival also includes the annual HELLO Community Theatre Awards.
