Born ** he completed an MSc Agric (Natal), PhD (Rhodes). Appointed Professor of Agricultural Economics and later as Registrar (Academic) at the University of Fort Hare (January 1983 – December 1990) and then Professor of Economics, Rhodes University (January 1991 – Present)
While at Rhodes University he has undertaken studies in the fields of Environmental Economics, Agricultural Economics, Farm Labour and the Economic Impact of the Arts. (See the relevant arts and performance publications authored and co-authored by Prof Antrobus in the ESAT Bibliography).
