The Fighting Cock is an English translation by Lucienne Hill [1] of L’Hurluberlu ou le Réactionnaire amoureux, a 1958 play about General Charles de Gaulle by French dramatist Jean Anouilh (1910-1987) [2].

1968: Staged by PACT, directed by Kerry Jordan, with Michael Atkinson (The General), Siegfried Mynhardt (Father Dominique), Ian Hamilton (Tarquin Edward Mendigales), Gillian Lomberg (Aglae), Hugh Rouse (Baron Henri Belazor), Frank Douglass (Lebelluc), Anthony James (Ledadu), Dale Cutts (The Doctor), Anne Courtneidge (Bise), Jeanette Neale (Sophie) and others. Designed by Aubrey Couling. The production opened on 25 September in the Alexander Theatre.
