Le Menteur ("The Liar"), a farcical play by Pierre Corneille.
Corneille's French text was based on La Verdad Sospechosa by the Spanish-American playwright Juan Ruíz de Alarcón, and was first performed in 1644, and published in French in 1634.
It was the source of Samuel Foote's farce, The Liar.
