Nandi Nyembe (19*-). Actress for stage and TV.
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
Her first role was “Dudu” in Pam-Grant’s Curl Up and Dye (1989).
Together with Nomhle Nkonyeni, Clare Stopford, Aletta Bezuidenhout and Jacqui Singer she workshopped and starred in Ulovane Jive which was the opening production of the Windybrow Theatre circa 1986.
She starred in Susan Pam-Grant’s Curl Up and Dye at the Black Sun in 1989.
The Dhlomo Theatre opened 21 March 1983 with Night of the Long Wake by Dukuza Ka Macu. Benjy Francis (dir). Takes place 16 June, 1976 but is about the actions & reactions of a group of people. Owen Sejake, Mavuso Tshabalala, Dambisa Kente, Fats Bookholane, Aubrey Sekese.
