The original text
A short edifying afterpiece about a rich but magnanimous Jew. First performed in the Amsterdamse Schouwburg and published in Amsterdam by Abraham Mars in 1824.

1851: Performed in Dutch as by Door Yver Bloeit de Kunst on 9 October in the Drury Lane Theatre, Cape Town, as afterpiece to De Listige Weduwe, of De Temperamenten (Von Kotzebue).
