The original text

Based on the diaries of the 19th Century actor William Charles Macready (1793-1873), and written and performed by Frank Barrie at the **. He subsequently toured to 67 countries with the play during the 1980s.

South African productions

1984: Performed at the 1984 National Arts Festival by Frank Barrie, presented by Brian Charteris and Giles Daubeny.
