Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He is the author of plays such as The Jero Plays, The Swamp Dwellers, Death and the King's Horseman, The Lion and the Jewel, King Baabu and A Play of Giants, all of which have been performed in South Africa.
He was a guest lecturer in South Africa a number of times after 1994.
