A 1984 comedy by Wole Soyinka. An examinination of Africa's political problems - through satire, fun and sometimes ridicule, it demonstrates what happens when a democracy goes wrong and a dictatorship ensues.
It had its world premiere in December 1984 at the Yale Repertory Theater in the USA.

Performance history in South Africa
Staged at the Market Theatre in September 2001 as part of the celebrations to mark the theatre's 25th anniversary. The production was directed by Joachim Siegard and the cast included actors from several Southern Africa countries: Dylan Wilson-Max, Eyahra Mathazia and Bon Nkosha from Zimbabwe, Jasen Mphepho from Tanzania, David Ndjavera from Namibia, Vulindlela Gamedze from Swaziland and Elias Banze from Mozambique.
