=As actress
Morkel was a member of the Handspring Puppet Company for three years. Productions with them include Mbira for Pasella (1984)
Other productions include: Orpheus… I mean Euridice… I mean the Natural History of a Chorus Girl (1999), High Diving (2009), Daddy, I‘ve seen this piece six times before and I still don’t know why they’re hurting each other (2012)
As director
She directed:
1996: Two Straight Queers'' (with Bruce Laing & Robert Coleman)
2023: The Red Balloon (2023).
As playwright
Her original plays include:
- Two Straight Queers'' (with Bruce Laing & Robert Coleman, 1996)
