The first production directed and designed by Fugard, with Carel Trichardt (Dimetos, an engineer), Vanessa Cooke (Lydia, his niece), Yvonne Bryceland (Sophia, their housekeeper) and Wilson Dunster (Danilo, a young man from the city).
