Training

Studied Drama at the University of Stellenbosch.


Career

In 1961 he became a member of the NTO Youth Drama group. From 1963 onwards he acted on a regular basis for CAPAB, PACT and PACOFS.

He translated A Midsummer Night's Dream into Afrikaans, with the title Somernagdroom; Dagboek van ‘n Waansinnige (Diary of a Madman) by Nikolai Gogol; Medea;

He acted in Die Gebreekte Kruik (PACT, 1963); Die Renosters, 1963; Die Skuld van Oedipus, 1963; Hansie die Hanslam, 1969; Bart Nel (CAPAB 1972); Die Blindes, 1973; So Long vir Johnny, 1974; Piekniek op die Slagveld, 1974: Die Geldpot in 1980.

He wrote the children’s play Die Towerboek van Kammalielieland.

He played in the film My Naam is Dingetjie.
