Jozef Hendrik Pieter Albrecht Willems, known as Jos Willems (1923-2010) was born in Knokke, Belgium on 2 July 1923. After active duty in WWII as a member of the Flemish Brigade, he moved to South Africa in 1951, where his bride-to-be, Monigue, joined him in the same year and they were married in Cape Town. In 1967 he became a South African citizen. Jos Willems was appointed adminstrative and public relations officer for the Drama Department of Stellenbosch University under Professor Fred Engelen in 1965. He held this position until his retirement in 1985 (1987?).
