Also known as the Klein Libertas Theatre or Klein Libertas iThiyatha is a section 21 company (registration number 2007/017484/08) that grew out of the amateur theatre club Libertas Theatre Club/Libertas Teaterklub in Stellenbosch.
Contents
Founding and early history
In 2007 the Libertas Theatre Club/Libertas Teaterklub in Stellenbosch became a section 21 company and it was renamed the Klein Libertas Theatre or Klein Libertas Teater or Klein Libertas iThiyatha. What used to be only an amateur theatre club now became a company also doing community projects, informal training and professional theatre productions. It is a registered production company and it produces three to five professional productions every year, staged in the Klein Libertas Theatre and also performing at arts festivals around the country.
