Die Bosflerrie se Bostent-teater (the Bush Flirt’s Bush Tent Theatre) was opened by actor Lourens Swanepoel next to a lion park in Randburg, Johannesburg and its target audience was specifically the more conservative, traditional Afrikaners.

Founding and early history
Die Bosflerrie se Bostent-teater was opened on Sunday 23 January 1994 with Eugène Terre'Blanche, the conservative political activist who founded the ultra right-wing Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (AWB), reading some of his own poetry by candle light.
Aims and function
At the time Swanepoel told Afrikaans newspaper Die Burger that the theatre is intended exclusively for Afrikaans-language productions. He intends, with this project, to "help build a successful future for our Afrikaans culture and the survival of our mother tongue" (translated from Afrikaans).
