The original text
Originally written as a radio play, it won the BBC's radio drama competition for the Africa and Middle East section in 1995.

Performance history in South Africa
It made its debut on stage at the KKNK, 1997. The play is set in the time directly after South Africa's first democratic election in 1994 and the story is told by the characters Martiens and Ragel who live on a farm in the Oudtshoorn area. Directed by Marléne Pieterse for CAPAB Eastern Cape, with Vinette Ebrahim as Ragel and Goliath Davids as Martiens.
