A one act French comedy in prose by Antoine de Fériol de Pont-de-Veyle. Bosman (1928: p128) wrongly lists it as by "Pont-De-Vesle", but it is actually one of the editors of the Bibliothèque dramatique de Pont de Vesle by Bibliophile Jacob.
First performed in Paris, at the Théâtre de la rue des Fossés Saint-Germain, on 19 January 1739.
Performance history in South Africa
Performed under the title Le Somnambule ou Orgia in Cape Town by students of Mr M.J. Riaux, under his direction, followed by the ballet De Liefdenest (Riaux and Meurant).
